Disaster at the 672
Damn, the day after I left for spain, a huge oak tree gave my second home (soon to be first for all of 10 days) a rick james esque bitchslap. apparently Waldo was minutes from an oak tree sandwich, but decided to stay up on the couch watching TV - thanks grandma and grandad for the sweet TV - it not only looks good, it saves lives.
So anyway, I am temporarily without a home. I had moved into waldo's house before leaving, but it is kind of minus a bedroom right now, and smells like mold and mildew, so who knows. I got my house in oakhurst/decatur, so according to the realtor, we will be closing on the 31st of august. So at that point i can go from bum to homeowner. Any aspiring interior decorators please email me. at this point, i am not getting hopeful until i have the keys in hand, but this one looks good.
So, more about spain. spent the day at parque de buen retiro here in madrid, and then went to the prado here to get some cultural activity in. saw lots of old paintings, the black period of Goya, Las Meninas, and the triptych by Heironymous Bosch depicting eden, earth and hell. Pretty cool stuff.
then a stroll around madrid, stopped and had a drink in a pub I haven't seen in 2 years, and I am off to dinner. good day.
will be here until the 23 or 24th. Project is going sloooooowly.
